Latest News: The Zoppoth Law Firm, on behalf of the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund, a national transgender-rights organization, filed a lawsuit today (8.9.17) against Amazon for discrimination and harassment of two of its employees, a husband and his transgendered wife who worked at Amazon’s Hebron, KY location. The case was filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky in Covington, Case No. 2:17-CV-00134. KY Civil Rights Act– Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) 344.040
It is unlawful for an employer to fail or refuse to hire, or to discharge any individual, or otherwise to discriminate against an individual with respect to compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment because of the individual’s race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age forty (40) and over, [or] because the person is a qualified individual with a disability.
